Earlier in the year the guys at Eurospotter got in touch about a new show they were hosting in Newcastle. Of course we were interested - everyone loves a night out down there. So last weekend we packed up and headed down to Newcastle Race Course for the first edition of Kulturschock ( I'm sure that's how it's spelt). With a big following online - we knew the guys would pull some serious cars to the North of England. Although the name Eurospotter suggests VAG event, the show was open to all makes and models - a format which is becoming more and more common these days in the UK.
The racecourse had plenty of cool little spaces for cars to find themselves parked, indoor areas, hard stand parking & super short grass. With the addition of a big drive on stage, some scattered podiums & a big grandstand to chill and take it all in - it really did have a bit of everything. If wandering around the venue wasn't enough for you, the lads had a very loud exhaust off on the stage, with Alex Begley taking home the trophy & and a limbo which seen the usual antics of 25 people squeezing into the smallest car on site. Ian Kelly's SQ5 was a stand out car for us, a super clean car with carbon everywhere. He picked up our sponsors choice award.
With being only a few hours down the road for us, it was good to see a lot of the Scottish lads picking up awards, with Matthew Neilson picking up best of show. (We've got a full feature of his DC5 coming up soon)
For a first show, the guys at Eurospotter pulled it out the bag. We are looking forward to seeing what the lads come up with for next year.
